I wrote about using hydrogen peroxide to treat colds well over a year ago in my “old” blog and again more recently. But I figure it’s time to mention again because it is, afterall, one of the most useful tidbits of knowledge I have ever picked up!
Here’s how it works:
1. At the first sign of a cold or flu tilt your head to the side and put a few drops of 3% hydrogen peroxide in your ear. You will probably hear some bubbling (which feels surprisingly good… to me at least!).
2. Let the peroxide sit there in the ear canal until the bubbling has pretty much stopped. Drain your ear and repeat on the other side.
3. Don’t get a cold…. or at least suffer for a much shorter period of time than usual.
4. Send me some money (just kidding).
Why does this work? Who knows and who cares! OK, there is a theory that viruses enter the body through the ear canal. I’m not sure if I totally “buy” this theory but I definitely think that our ears are a breeding ground for living viruses. So by killing those little bas*ards we short-circuit the cold infection. Apparently this also works for the flu virus!
