Lately I’ve had to buy several gifts for various friends and associates. And, I have to admit, I HATE buying gifts. Actually, I hate shopping for gifts. It’s a huge pain in the butt for me. I never have any idea what makes a good gift nor what the specific givee would like. So I usually end up buying a “best seller” from whatever product category fits the dollar amount I want to spend. Books for acquaintances, cd box sets for good friends, and dvd players for close family (or people I really want to do a business deal with!). But that sucks because, unless I luck out, my gifts usually come off as what they are: things purchased with little or no thought/consideration/originality/etc. by the buyer (me). So, to solve this problem, I’ve been in search of good resources for finding original gift ideas that, at least in theory, will make me appear to be a very thoughtful person.
