I love Cinco de Mayo! It’s one of my favorite holidays and definitely one of the best days of the year. First, to me it marks the true beginning of the Spring/Summer/Warm season here in the United States. Second, as anyone who’s gone to a Mexican bar on the 5th of May knows, it’s just a very fun fiesta. Finally, being of Mexican-descent it’s a day to be proud of mi raza, my Mexican roots!
What most people don’t know about Cinco de Mayo is that it’s the anniversary of a very important battle that took place in Mexico in 1862… a battle that may have saved the United States! Don’t believe me? Check this out:
