Joker “Mad Energy” Lo-Carb Drink Review

In my never-ending quest to find the “perfect” energy drink, I decided to purchase a Joker “Mad Energy” energy drink today at the local 7-Eleven. As always I opted for the low-sugar (aka “Lo-Carb”) version, which has about 6 grams of sugar per 16-ounce can. Drinking a normal non-diet energy drink is like shoveling a small bucket of sugar into your mouth — not a great idea for health or energy!

Anyway, my overall review of this energy drink can be summed up in one word…. “Blah”

Joker Mad Energy Lo-Carb isn’t horrible, but it’s definitely nothing to get excited about either. Does it give you energy? Yes, of course it does (it contains a good amount of caffeine, ginseng, guarana, taurine and B vitamins). Does it taste good? Not really. Not only is the taste rather medicine-like, but it’s “flat” as well… literally. The drink seems to be barely carbonated, which kills any chance for the enjoyable “mouth feeling” that most carbonated energy drinks have.

The bottom line: I probably won’t be buying another Joker Mad Energy drink again. It’s simply not very good, yet it costs the same as most of the other options — so why bother?

I just cracked open a can of Jokers lo carb sugar free drink. Upon my first sip I noticed a tangy cheap artificial sweetener taste. In my desperate need to get a quick energy fix I sipped on in the hopes that I would get used to it. I find this drink to be tolerable but I will not purchase another one.
