Rush Energy Lite was my energy drink choice of the day today. Here’s my short review:
Taste: This drink has kind of a “Jolly Rancher” cherry/strawberry taste… which definitely isn’t something I’m a big fan of. In fact, as a child, I was probably the only kid I knew of who didn’t like Jolly Ranchers candies. But, fortunately, the flavor isn’t overwhelming and doesn’t leave too much of an aftertaste (compared with some energy drinks).
Texture: Not bad. It’s not too thick, has plenty of carbonation, and can definitely be used as a “thirst quencher.”
Energy: Probably the best feature of this energy drink is that it doesn’t give you too much energy. What I mean is, it gives you energy without the overwhelming “rush” many drinks give you. And yes, that’s very ironic, given the drink’s name. Rush! Lite contains plenty of caffeine, taurine, inositol, b vitamins, and other energy nutrients… but it doesn’t make you feel like you just did a line of cocaine (which I think is a good thing… you may disagree).
Bottom Line: If it wasn’t for the flavor, I would probably put Rush! Lite on my list of favorite energy drinks. If you enjoy the sickly sweet flavor of artificial cherry and strawberry candies you’ll probably like this drink.
