Damn, this sucks. Google, for some strange reason, has decided to shut down one of their coolest and most useful time-saving services: Google Answers. Why they would do this I have no idea. But it certainly opens up an opportunity for someone else to start a similar (and possibly even better) online research service.
And no, Yahoo Answers is not the same. It’s great for a laugh or if you feel like digging through millions of opinions and “tips” provided by thousands of uninformed and semi-informed users for the occasional nugget of useful knowledge. Other than that it’s just a crappy way for Yahoo to drive traffic.
Oh well, looks like millions of college and high school students are going to have to start doing their own term paper research again. At least until another service steps up to the plate!
