I’m a huge boxing fan. My dad was a top amateur fighter (multiple Golden Gloves champion) as well as a very good professional (25-2 record) who also did some judging and even a little training after he retired. He loves the sport and he taught me how to throw a proper punch when I was about 4 years old.
I grew up watching boxing and have seen hundreds of fights, including most of the “classics” from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s. However, I have never seen a fight as good as the first matchup between Jose Luis Castillo and Diego Corrales which occurred on May 7, 2005. The last round of that fight was absolutely, unbelievably, incredible… and here it is for your viewing pleasure:

Dude. You must be hispanic. Only hispanics have this kind of bias. The only thing great about this fight was the way that it ended. Diego spits his mouthpiece out twice? The ref taking away a point? The ref checking the tape on the gloves at the start of 10? No way. It was a good fight, but the best ever? You’re smoking crack. Gatti vs Ward 1,2,and 3 were all better fight..
nah i think marvin hagler vs thomas hearns round 1 was the best round ever. that was a real dog fight
Clearly the guy above (Get the fuck out) didnt see the full Corrales-Castillo fight. It was heading for fight of the year even before round 10. And that is as dramatic a round as any in boxing history including Gatti-Ward 1 Rond 9, Bowe Holyfield 1 Round 10, Chavez-Taylor 1 Round 12, Hagler-Hearns Round 1 and any others you can throw at me.
the greatest round ever was lyle vs foreman round 4
