7 Things I Like About Living in Las Vegas

las-vegas-desert.jpgLas Vegas is a great city. OK, it’s not actually that great of a city to live in. But it’s still a great city. Since I’m stuck here for at least another 6 months or so I figured I’d start listing some of the best things about living in this crazy, sunburnt city…

1. Weather. Overall, the weather in Vegas is pretty dang good. Yes, it’s chilly and windy for about 3 or 4 months out of the year, but at least it never snows and rarely drops below 30 degrees. The extreme 100-degree-plus heat of the summer I can live with. The best part is the two “springs” we have, the first being between march and may, the second being between september and november.

2. Casinos. I don’t care what anyone says… or how many thousands of dollars I lose… casinos are just plain fun!

3. Food. No matter what kind of food you like, you can find it in Vegas… in both the “cheap” version and the “ultra-expensive” gourmet version (and usually everything in between).

4. The Desert. The Mojave Desert is a beautiful place.

5. The sun. Even when it’s “cold” in Vegas, the sun is almost always out. No need to worry about vitamin D-deficiency if you live here!

6. Red Rock Canyon and Mount Charleston. Two absolutely beautiful places to spend the day outdoors in the Las Vegas valley.

7. Opportunity. If someone is looking for business opportunities, it’s tough to beat Las Vegas. This is truly one of the great cities for entrepreneurs… which is why I’m here!
