OK, I’m not messing around anymore…
It’s back to being freaking cold here in Las Vegas… I mean really, really cold. Yes, believe it or not, it does get that cold here. But since we have about 8 months of warm-to-hot weather in this strange desert city it’s easy for me to get comfortable here and forget about my plans/desires to move somewhere where it never ever ever ever ever gets cold… ever.
Over the past week the sharp cold breezes that have been slapping me across the face and upside my head have brought me back down to reality. They’ve re-ignited the fire that burns inside me to get the hell out of this cold-ass place… at least during the winter. I’m moving to Costa Rica in 2008. That’s all there is to it. It’s gonna happen… I promise. OK, I don’t actually have to “live” there but by the fall of 2008 I will be in a position job/income-wise where I can spend as much time as I want there.
My plan is to first rent a little casita… then buy a decent sized villa… then buy my first hotel/spa… then the first mega-resort will come. It’s gonna be great… and very warm.

If you’re looking for good web hosting that doesn’t completely suck, avoid HostGator at all costs! I’ve used them for a couple years now and the quality of the hosting has just gone completely down the tubes. It started off OK when I bought my first reseller account but over the past few months I’ve had nothing but problems, some of which have cost me large amounts of money.
The worst part is that 99% of their customer service people either have no idea what they’re doing or have been told by their bosses to do everything they can to avoid fixing problems in a reasonable time frame. I have a feeling it’s a combination of the two.
Again, if you need good quality web hosting with a tech support staff that can actually help you… don’t go with HostGator!!

This is what I will accomplish before the end of this year:
1. Lose 10 pounds of body fat and get ultra fit again.
2. Launch 1 great blog about Las Vegas.
3. Launch 1 great new fitness blog.
4. Do at least 8 solid hours of “smart” work per day.
5. Clean, process, and organize all my important documents as well as my apartment.
6. Create an effective, detailed plan for success for next year (2008).
7. Learn to focus my thoughts for momentum and success as well as utilize a “flow” mental state to consistently accomplish great things.
Wish me luck!

It’s the middle of summer and I’m still trying to get rid of my extra belly fat. I’ve been working out and eating a relatively healthy diet for the past couple of months (more protein, more veggies/fruit, little fried stuff, no sugar) but I still have a pretty thick layer of ugly, stubborn fat around my midsection. I expected it to be gone by now and feel pretty frustrated about its continued presence!
So a couple of days ago I decided to take a more drastic approach to losing my unwanted body fat. Since I hate waiting and always prefer to see results quickly I chose one of the only “fast weight loss” approaches that’s at least semi-proven to work: the low-carbohydrate diet… or at least a modified low-carb diet.
So for the past few days I’ve been eating nothing but protein (mainly meat and eggs), nuts, vegetables, and fruit. Yes fruit. More specifically, I’ve been eating a couple servings of fresh oranges and grapes each day. That’s why it’s a “kinda low carb” diet. I know that eating fruit, which contains some natural sugar (fructose), goes against most low-carb teachings and will prevent my body from going into ketosis, but I don’t really give a dang! Fruit is healthy, full of fiber and other good stuff… and I just love eating it in the summertime!
This is the third day on this diet and I’m definitely feeling different… and I’m pretty sure I’ve lost some weight/fat. I guess I should get a scale one of these days. But I think the mirror is the best measure of progress when it comes to fat loss. Overall, I feel pretty good on this diet… although I seem to have less energy for my morning workouts. Oh well, as long as I’m losing my belly fat fast I’m happy. Wish me luck!

I have a good feeling about today. After all, Las Vegas is definitely the place to be on 7/7/07. Even though I’m not getting married there’s definitely some magic in the air here (which happens to be about 110 degrees today). So I might just go pull a few slot machine handles and play a few hands of blackjack… just to see what happens. I may even go check out Ron Paul at the Paris!
No matter what, I’m pretty sure today’s going to be a special one…
